Support Vote for the Wellington Cable Park

Getting a cable running in NZ is not easy but these guys are well down the path so spend a couple minutes and help out the wake scene, just sign up on the home page and vote for the park.

A Reason to Crash

It’s one of the more unique aspects of riding wake that crashing is the best way to get something better than you otherwise would from the situation. First rollers are soo much fun but if your riding what is normally considered well and not crashing a lot, you pretty much miss out. In Almost any other sport there is no fun in dragging yourself back up after you fall Riley Bathurst taking full advantage of falling, first roller back one, shot by Angus Gray.

Flick

There’s not too many girls in the NZ wake scene that I can say have spent more time in boats than I have but Flick is one of them, and even better than that we have spent a fair amount of time in boats together, from back in the day when building a dam in the river was more important than learning tricks, to last week when we rode cable together for the first time.

She’s been at me for a while to run more girls on the site, as this is the first post of any girl skating I’m happy to say Flick has a shot up and I’m doubting it will be her last.

Print Forward

I happened to be walking thru R&R in Riccarton, Christchurch yesterday just as Luke Thomas was dropping off copies of his first printed edition of Forward Wake it’s good to see New Zealand wakeboarding having there own publication again, it’s been a while since the last mag. I’ll try dig out the posters as I know I still had them til a year or two ago, both of Mark Kenny who passed in 2002 so it dates the mag a while. Anyway go find the new mag it should in your local boardstore soon.

How Big? Front Big

So Cam Stenning is about to board a flight to come shoot some photo and video of him wakeskating and doing stuff, he’s got sme new tricks so about now would be a good idea to release a shot from last time we were shooting in Ohope as it’l be outdated soon. Profile Pic

I’m not even quite sure what this started as, I think it was a 3 Shuv but when looking back on the shots after his set Cam Stenning asked if I could send this to him for a new profile pic, I got to editing a couple of the landed shot from the set this morning but decided this was more worthy of a post today.
