Day One of the Nationals has come and gone and it fulfilled all of our expectations! Junior Mens Division was a real highlight this year with all three podium spots being so highly contested!

Here's the highlights edit from finals day. Stoked to see the junior men really throwing down this year! The future of NZ wakeboarding is bright!

J.B ONiell making the most out of his off season over in the states on Lake Austin and at BSR Cablepark showing his wide range of skills from throwing huge mobe-dick 5s on the boat to getting crazy on the rails with Tantrum transfers to back-lip 270 outs at the cable. J.B is defiantly one to keep an eye out for as the u.s season looms

Brad Smeele laying it down at the wake the line qualifier held at cables wakepark in sydney a few weeks back. Showing us with his mute double half-cab roll that he is a well rounded rider on both boat and cable. Brad is heading back to the states in a few weeks to push the sport and put NZ wakeboarding on the map.

O’Neill Wake The Line will be hitting Cologne, Germany again in May as we enter our winter months, but before that there will be a handful of qualifier events held all over the globe. The first one was held at the Cables Wake Park in Penrith, Australia where a few of the best riders in the world were there along with our very own Brad Smeele to try and secure their invite to the event.

Check out the full wrap from the North Island Champs last weekend. It was a great weekend with some really good riding. Looking forward to seeing you all at Nationals in a few weeks where the competition will be even hotter!

We continue on our adventure in a day in the life of Steel Lafferty. Steel finally gets in the water to ride and then we stop by Parks Bonifay house for some quality bonding time…

We invade Steel Lafferty’s life for a day… We put him on the spot for some interesting questions as well as throw him in the fire with one of wakeboarding’s legends. This is going to be an interesting ride. For part 1 we wake Steel up and check out his new Mastercraft X-Star.

Its that time a year when wakeboarders start slacking off and taking it easy. Guys like Rusty Malinoski are always out there on the water and putting in the hours. We brought Stu Shinn and Zane Schwenk out to do a little winter training with Rusty and spend some time with him getting their feet back on the board. Zane with all his knowledge turned from student to master in no time and was spreading words of wisdom for everyone.

Jamie Barrow just sent us this sweet little video of him riding in his back yard down at the Kenley arm in Auckland on New Years Day. Australia’s own James Windsor, current cable World Champ now mixes it with the best in wakeboarding. Soon we’ll get to see his insane wakepark skills in Patrick Wieland’s new flick ‘This Time Around’ where he’ll ride along side names like: Shredtown, Daniel Grant, James Windsor, Dylan Miller, Olivier Derome, Manu Rupp and Jeff Mckee.
